A website redesign is more than changing button colours. A well-executed redesign improves conversions, speeds up loading, adapts mobile layout, and — critically — preserves the Google rankings you have built. A poorly executed redesign can drop organic traffic by 30-70% in the first month.
Before we start a redesign, we audit the existing site's SEO: which pages rank, which URLs have inbound links, what heading structure works. Based on this we plan the migration: 301 redirects for all changed URLs, canonical tags, sitemap updates and Search Console monitoring after launch.
Visual redesign does not necessarily mean a complete architecture overhaul. The safest path is often: new typography, colours and components while keeping the URL structure and content logic intact. If a new architecture is necessary — we plan it carefully with an old-to-new URL map.
Technical redesign: migration from outdated technologies (old WordPress with Elementor, static HTML, Joomla) to modern Next.js or a new WordPress setup. Faster speed, better Core Web Vitals, correct metadata and structured data — all directly affect rankings.

It can be positive or negative depending on implementation. With proper 301 redirects, preserved URLs where possible and GSC monitoring — the risk is minimal.
They tell Google that an old URL has permanently moved to a new one. Without them, Google loses inbound links and ranking signals built up over years.
