Website redesign — modernisation while preserving Google rankings

Redesign of outdated websites with preserved SEO rankings: new visual identity, better speed, mobile layout and 301 redirects for migration.

Overview

How we work and what you get

A website redesign is more than changing button colours. A well-executed redesign improves conversions, speeds up loading, adapts mobile layout, and — critically — preserves the Google rankings you have built. A poorly executed redesign can drop organic traffic by 30-70% in the first month.

Before we start a redesign, we audit the existing site's SEO: which pages rank, which URLs have inbound links, what heading structure works. Based on this we plan the migration: 301 redirects for all changed URLs, canonical tags, sitemap updates and Search Console monitoring after launch.

Visual redesign does not necessarily mean a complete architecture overhaul. The safest path is often: new typography, colours and components while keeping the URL structure and content logic intact. If a new architecture is necessary — we plan it carefully with an old-to-new URL map.

Technical redesign: migration from outdated technologies (old WordPress with Elementor, static HTML, Joomla) to modern Next.js or a new WordPress setup. Faster speed, better Core Web Vitals, correct metadata and structured data — all directly affect rankings.

After launch we monitor GSC for 30-90 days: whether redirects are correct, whether Google re-indexes without errors, whether conversions are stable. A redesign is not done at launch — it is done when the data shows stability.

Investment

Pricing range

Visual redesign from €2,500–5,000; complex migration with new architecture from €6,000+.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will a redesign affect my Google rankings?

It can be positive or negative depending on implementation. With proper 301 redirects, preserved URLs where possible and GSC monitoring — the risk is minimal.

What are 301 redirects and why do they matter?

They tell Google that an old URL has permanently moved to a new one. Without them, Google loses inbound links and ranking signals built up over years.

Can I keep my old URLs?

We always try to — it is the safest approach. When a change is necessary, a 301 redirect passes the 'link juice'.

How long does a redesign project take?

Depends on scope: a simple redesign 4-8 weeks, a complex migration with architectural changes 2-4 months.

Do you monitor Google performance after launch?

Yes — GSC monitoring is part of every redesign project. We track indexing, errors and traffic movements for 30-90 days.
